About the Maker

Andrew Angus, the maker, is a well known double reed teacher and performer.  Playing regularly in a professional capacity with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and Melbourne Bach Orchestra, he specialises in Baroque as well as modern oboe.  Andrew’s success as a teacher is evident in the high number of his students who have gone on to pursue tertiary study in oboe and bassoon.  As a result Andrew understands the unique requirements that students at all levels demand from their reeds.  He has designed the Alliaud and Rouche Cane reeds for this market.  These reeds are easy playing with a lovely tone.  Uniquely they offer response and control and are ideal for oboists who are seeking reeds that work effortlessly.

Like I struck gold, finally getting closer to the right pitch 444 with my ancient Dupin that’s manufactured for playing at 440. Thanks Andrew Angus!
