Synthetic Oboe Reed made by Rigotti of France.

The entire reed is made of synthetic materials and is therefore (according to the manufacturer) stable in pitch and structure.
This is a great reed for beginners, and for school music programs for instrument try-outs, where ease of sanitation and re-use is desired.

Here at Sweet Reeds, we asked three professional oboe players to test these Rigotti plastic oboe reeds.  Our feedback was that they have limited suitability. As a result we invite you to exercise caution when purchasing these reeds!  We think they are ideal for beginner students as part of a school program where teachers may find they are more durable than cane reeds, they can offer a specific stability for a student to master the ‘first year’ basics with and are perfect for School instrument try-outs as they can be easily sanitised.
