The Rimpl makers are well known for producing quality hand-crafted reeds in the German tradition of warm rich tone production and this stunning K1 Red Contrabassoon Reed is no exception.  It features a longer and flatter blade compared to the K2 shape, with a narrower throat.  Matt plays these reeds for sustained lyrical passages where he seeks a smooth blended sound and where  less dynamic contrast and note attack is required.
