Description
Popular, long lasting and stable
These KGE Premium Oboe reeds were selected for their intonation, articulation, tone and the quality of their finish. They use the same quality cane as all KGE reeds; the difference with the premium range of reeds is the higher density of the cane which makes the reed more resistant. Because of this, these reeds deserve a good soak to get them started and do require some playing in. A popular, long lasting and stable reed.

Just wanted to let you know that my oboe reeds arrived safely last Wednesday. Thank you!
I’ve now had a chance to scrape them further and play them a little and also wanted to say that I’m so very, very pleased with this latest batch.
Thank you Jo for your call on Tuesday 26/11 re: my request for particular staples etc. and for selecting the reeds that you did.
I’m tempted to place an order for a further lot of reeds thinking that these reeds on this particular batch of cane you have been sent from KGE suits me particularly well.
They’ve also been consistently well scraped!

I have preferred the KGEs in the past, they do take longer to play in (is that even an English word?) but once they have been used for a week or two I find they are fantastic and last a little longer than the other brand. I also find that I am a bit sharper in the RAD pro compared to KGE. However I have only been playing for a year after a long break so I am sharp anyway…. I hope I get that under control this year.
