Oboe Reed Making Kit

Description

Reed Making kits are ideal for oboists who would like to commence the satisfying and wonderful journey of making reeds!  The kit makes reed crafting accessible, particularly with the assistance of a teacher or an instruction book (both ‘sold’ separately). 

We have a range of kit variations to offer depending on your needs.

Basic Reed Pack

These kits contain the raw materials to make 5 or 10 reeds. Useful for those who have the assistance of an expert who has tools for the student to use.   

Comes in a 5 or 10 pack presented in a box. 

• Folded, Shaped and Gouged Cane – 5 pcs or 10 pcs per pack

• Rigotti Brass Staples – 5 pcs or 10 pcs per pack

• 1 cutting block

• 1 plaque

• Small spool of binding thread (colours include either khaki green or vibrant pink)

• Copper wire  – sufficient to make 5 or 10 reeds

Advanced Reed Pack

These kits come with all the materials of the basic pack plus a mandrel and reed knife.

Choose from a 5 or 10 reed pack presented in a funky fabric zip case.

• Chiarugi Reed Knife; black plastic handle, vinyl blade sheath.  Choose from left (LH) or right handed (RH) knife

• Chiarugi Oboe Reed Mandrel, black plastic handle

• Folded, Shaped and Gouged Cane – 5 pcs or 10 pcs per pack

• Rigotti Brass Staples – 5 pcs or 10 pcs per pack

• 1 cutting block

• 1 plaque

• Small spool of binding thread (colours include either khaki green or iridescent pink)

• Copper wire  

• Small fabric zip case in funky black, pink, green and gold fabric with durable copper zip.

Please specify pack requirement using the selection box, add your preferred colour binding thread (khaki green or iridescent pink) and have a blast making reeds!
