Rieger Bassoon Reed – Multicolour Binding, #1 Shape

Description

Light and responsive, this multicolour reed is a medium to light all-round reed with good responsiveness and solid tone.  The Rieger 1 has a wide throat so it is well balanced (meaning it plays well in all registers), but not as strong on the very high notes as the Rieger 1a.   

We find this to be a good beginner to intermediate student reed, but for advanced players who appreciate a lighter reed to breeze the quiet entries, this reed could also be on your shopping list. 

It does feel softer to play and is well suited to students and beginners for this reason.
