Description

Suitable for oboe and bassoon, these Knipex pliers have three functions.

  1.  The small, blunt head allows for gripping, twisting and manipulating the wires of your reed. These grips are also gentle enough to squeeze the wires of your reed to adjust the tip aperature.
  2. The cup shaped divot below the non-slip bunt head, allows you to hold the reed body or staple as needed.
  3. The pliers also have a nipping (cutting) function.  This can be used for cutting the wire ends, or nipping the reed tip or (in the case of bassoon reeds) 45 degree angled edges on the reed tip.

This a quality tool made in Germany.  It features a solid stainless-steel construction with red grips (an update from the previous model which had red and blue grips).  The red grips are easy to hold and ensure stability while you work with the pliers.
